Well, I did it. I passed my Child Passenger Safety Technician certification class with flying colors. (Lead instructor and senior tech told me today that I was outstanding and exceptional. I love/hate when they do that. Mostly I love it though, because I’ve worked really hard at this and I DO think I’m going to be a great tech.) We had our seat check event today – required in order to pass the class. We had a couple of challenging situations (think three kids in a minivan kind of situations) but every one of the kids left safer than they were when they arrived. We were even able to convince one mom to turn her 18-month-old back rear-facing (much safer for them) – he was so comfy that way that he fell asleep when we put him back in his seat.
I’ll be working my first post-class seat event on September 15. I can’t wait!
