Big Brother had a snow day on Friday. Since it was a “free” day, he got to watch a movie. (I would say that Little Sister watched it with him, but she really only watches TV for about 10 minutes and then she’s on to other things.)
This particular movie is a Disney one, a DVD we’ve had for a long time and which has seen many viewings. Needless to say, we’ve seen EVERYTHING on that DVD numerous times – the previews, the movie, the extras, all of it.
And yet …
And yet, we’re forced to watch the previews on the DVD. Every. Single. Time. Ten minutes of previews.
Why? Because Disney has programmed their DVDs this way. You cannot skip past the previews – you get a message that says “operation prohibited by disc.” Never mind that ALL of the movies previewed are long out on DVD by now, and in fact many of them are probably back in “the vault” and so not even available any more.
It drives me bonkers, especially when I’ve budgeted movie time to coincide nicely with bedtime, some other planned activity in our schedule, etc. An extra ten minutes of movie can really throw a wrench into things!
Anybody else hate this? Or am I just picky?
