We let the kids eat dinner in the living room tonight, which meant they ate at their little TV trays while watching a show. They watched the end of America’s Funniest Home Videos (or whatever they call it these days), but that ended when they had only eaten part of their dinner. So Tim started flipping channels, and stopped on PBS.
And it was the Lawrence Welk Show. Tim left it there, because there was nothing else on. Little Sister got up and started dancing, and even Book Boy was bopping around a bit as he sat and ate his dinner. It was quite funny, especially considering it was an episode from 1968.
They watched the entire 45-minute show! That’s amazing for two reasons: First, LS doesn’t sit still for TV very long at all – 15 minutes is a long time for her. And second, I expected BB to complain about the show (it was pretty corny), but he didn’t complain one bit!
(I guess this is where I admit that I enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk with Mom or my grandmother when I was a kid … so I guess my kids got it from me.)
