Tim and I put our little pool up this evening. (Yes, we’re a little late.) We have one of those “easy set” pools, with a top ring that inflates and rises as you fill the pool.
It will be a few days – maybe Wednesday – before the water is really warm enough for swimming. I figured the kids might want to swim before then, and if they don’t mind the chilly water, that’s fine with me.
I thought they’d wait at least a day or two.
Apparently I thought wrong! Shortly after we started filling the pool, LS wanted to hold the hose. Then she was drinking from the hose. Then she wanted to take her shoes off and step in it. Fine. Then she sat down in it! No sooner had she sat down in the water then Book Boy came running out in his underwear and a t-shirt. About the third time he hopped over the ring (the water was about a foot deep by now), he slipped and landed in the water. All bets were off at this point!
They splashed, jumped, and squirted each other with the hose for at least a half hour, until dinner was ready.
I sure hope they have this much fun when we actually get in the filled-up pool!
