OK, yesterday I talked about playing Connect Four with Book Boy. We had a great time, and played again tonight after dinner/homework/bath.
With Thanksmas coming up, I wouldn’t mind some ideas for a couple more good games we could play together. We have lots of games – some “baby” games like Candyland and others that he’s outgrown – but there really aren’t that many that we really like to play. Sorry, Life (he LOVES that one), Battleship (but that takes forever and he’s not always reliable about finding the “position” of ships, etc), Connect Four. Uno, and a few other card games.
What games do/did YOU play with your smart-ish seven-year-old? I’m looking for games that aren’t too complicated/frustrating – no need to have game night end in tears, I figure – but something that isn’t babyish or so easy that it won’t challenge him at all.
I know, I know, a tall order, isn’t it?
