Looks like we’re in for a perfect fall weekend! Blue skies, temperatures in the 70s, etc. Today when Little Sister and I picked Book Boy up from school, we drove right to the park so the kids could get some play time. It was gorgeous, and we didn’t want to be stuck inside – and even playing in the back yard didn’t seem enough to take advantage of the nice weather! (Of course, the kids did that too after we came home.
Tim told me this evening about a local-ish orchard where he and his boss have been getting doughnuts the past few weeks. (Funny how I hadn’t heard about that until today … ) We may take the kids there this weekend in our as-yet unfulfilled quest to find a nice orchard that’s not too crowded, doesn’t charge us an arm and a leg to go to a “country fair” just so we can pick apples (which we then also pay for), but allows us to have a little bit of an orchard experience. We shall see how that turns out.
We may also take a trip to the Toledo Zoo on Sunday. (You may remember that we attempted to go a couple times over the summer but our plans were thwarted by rain, or at least rain that was anticipated but never came.) A client gave Tim four passes for free admission at the zoo, and I think we’re going to assume this will be the last nice weekend that we’ll be able to use them. (Yes, the zoo is open even when it’s cold, but we much prefer to go when it’s nice out.)
Anyone else experiencing great fall weather this weekend? How are you planning to take advantage of it?
