As planned, Tim and I took the kids to the Toledo Zoo today. It was an absolutely perfect day for the zoo – warm and sunny, but not too hot. Lots of people, but not too crowded, and the kids didn’t have any trouble getting up front to see the animals they wanted to see. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. (And what a good price – we had free passes, so it just cost us $11 in gas, $5 for parking, $2 for a pop and $2 for cotton candy.)
Here are some pictures from our adventure. I didn’t get many pictures of Little Sister today, for some reason, and Book Boy seemed more willing to pose than usual. Go figure.
We always have to take pics on the animal sculptures.
These feisty polars gave us quite a show as they wrestled in the water. There was a third one that was playing with a ball. He’d throw the ball in the water, dive in after it and play with it a bit, then throw it out of the water, get out and start over again.
Another animal sculpture. I think this one looks real, though it’s possible that it’s because I remember riding a tortoise at the Toledo Zoo when I was around three or so. (Snowbird, am I remembering that right, or am I completely making it up?)
Hatching in the aviary.
I just like this picture.
Wait’ll you see what they were looking at.
Check out this hippo!
We had to swing by the polar bears again on our way out.
