Tim and I took the kids to my parents’ house last night for trick-or-treating. Usually we go in our own neighborhood, but Mom has asked me to bring the kids over on Halloween for years. It’s too far away to go there on a week night, and last year they were in Florida by Halloween, so I couldn’t resist the chance to let them see the kids on Halloween this year.
The weather was incredibly warm! I had made Little Sister’s costume (and bought Book Boy’s) large enough to accomodate a winter coat, if needed. It turned out that she could have gotten by with just the sleeveless costume, though I did put a thin fleece jacket on her. BB had to take of his headwear after a while because he was sweating.
Mom and I took the kids around, and we had a blast. I didn’t know how LS would be, but after about two houses she was raring to go! The only houses where she was reluctant were the ones with dogs outside. (Really, why do people have their big dogs out in the front yard with them on Halloween?) The kids got a nice haul of candy, of course.
LS’s final costume, complete with wings and magic wand.
BB had a pretty good Batman voice. “I’m here. And he’s not. And I’m worse.”
We were just about done here.
How was everyone else’s Halloween? Did you have nice weather? Any surprises?
