It seems impossible to believe, but Book Boy turned eight years old today! It seems like just yesterday that we held our little 8 lb 4 oz, 21″ bundle of joy in our arms for the first time.
We didn’t do anything tremendously exciting in celebration, but Book Boy seemed happy enough. Last Thursday we met my cousin’s wife and kids at a place called Jungle Java – the kids spent the afternoon playing hard in the huge play area. Today, Book Boy took cupcakes to school and Little Sister and I made him a cake for this evening. We enjoyed his dinner of choice (pizza rolls) followed by singing and cake. We also let the kids have a rare school night movie. (Because pizza rolls are best eaten in front of the TV, of course.) It was a nice evening and BB seemed happy. Oh, and he enjoyed his presents from us – a Nintendo DS game, a Hangman game, and a little cash. (He has quite a stash of cash now!)

i would have LOVED to have seen that pic of BB when he was sick (pinkeye?) and woke up all nasty crusty with 2 pacifiers in his mouth! I think that pic is hilarious!!!
Happy Birthday, BB! I love that second photo best. I’ve seen that same, amused look on his face in more recent pictures. (Though I wish I wasn’t as familiar with his passion for pizza rolls. They’re my nephew’s favorite, too. What’s the appeal, I wonder?) While I don’t believe for a moment that he’s READING his ABC’s, I’m impressed that he was already holding the book right side up, even back then!

Gal – I agree with your comment on the second photo, I felt the same way when I came across it yesterday. I have to admit that BB gets his love of pizza rolls from Tim and me – we enjoy a big plate of the little things now and then. (And as far as the pic of BB “reading” – I think he happened to hold the book like that for about five seconds, and I happened to get a shot of it. Perfect, though, isn’t it? I had it on my desk at work until the very end, LOL.)
What sweet pictures! I love the one where he’s reading at an early age…LOL. They grow up too fast don’t they?
