Most nights, Tim or I read Little Sister a few bedtime stories. Tonight, as the kids were heading to bed, Book Boy made her the generous offer of reading to her, as many books as she wanted. (As long as it was less than five, he said.) Her face lit up, and she immediately took him up on the offer.
The kids headed upstairs to our bed, and Tim and I could hear them for a while. They had a “look and find” book – Spiderman themed – and we could hear BB quizzing her on the different superheroes. “Now, who is this?” “Hulk!” “Who’s this?” “Superman!” Etc. Very cute.
After a while, they settled down to the actual book reading. It wasn’t long before BB had come back down to the living room, though. He stood before me with a somewhat sly look on his face.
“We have a little problem upstairs.”
“What happened?” (I figured that maybe LS had wet the bed, or something like that.)
“LS is asleep.”
“Yep, she fell asleep when I was reading to her, and it only took two pages!” He was quite proud of himself.
I think we’re going to have BB read to her every night.
