As I mentioned a few days ago, Btwinny and I traded kids twice this summer. The first time, she got Book Boy, and she showed him a great time! The best part of his visit was a trip to the local renaissance festival. She make him a great pirate outfit, and he even got picked to participate onstage in two shows!
We’ve heard tons about the renaissance festival, and have decided to go to the big regional festival, which is about 30 minutes from my parents’ house. Both kids (Book Baby will hopefully be with my mom) are very excited, and BB will of course wear his pirate costume again. A friend of mine offered up a great pirate costume that her daughter wore a few years ago, but BG wants nothing to do with it. No, she needs to have a princess costume.
Luckily for her, I can sew! I have a great Singer book on halloween costumes, and have used it to make three similar costumes in the past. Imagine this in bright pink, with a tulle veil coming out of the top of the hat.
Also luckily, since the renaissance festival is in less than a week, Tim is on vacation this week, so I should be able to squeeze in a few afternoons/evenings of sewing (assuming that BBaby – Miss I’m-not-going-to-sleep-until-10:45-p.m. – cooperates). We went to Joann’s this afternoon and got everything we needed. (And a last luckily – I had a nice gift card that I hadn’t used yet, so I didn’t have to pay a cent of the $20 we spent on costume materials.)
Just for fun, here are some pictures of BB at the renaissance festival with Btwinny. He had an absolute blast!
Onstage with with Ric Roc.
Btwinny had him arrested for being too quiet.
He had to shout “I shall be loud” five times, and sing “I’m a Little Teapot.”
