Well, Book Girl was supposed to wear the princess costume I made her for the renaissance festival, but declared at noon that she hated it and would not be wearing it. So, we raided the dress up box and she went as a bride instead. Book Baby was supposed to wear the cow costume that I made for Book Boy many years ago, but I couldn’t find it. So we dug up the clown costume instead, I tossed it in the dryer to freshen it up, and BBaby was none the wiser. BB couldn’t find his own sword (a cutlass, according to him) and had to make do with BG’s bejweled sword instead.
And the wonderful thing about kids is that they didn’t mind a bit. They had a blast, and didn’t even care that hardly anyone in our lame neighborhood passes out candy. (Those that do tend to give out handfuls to the few trick-or-treaters they get, though.)
